In this program, grade 1-2 students become history detectives as they learn about famous leaders, their remarkable qualities, historical events, and their important significance. Young historians learn about the contributions of past heroes, past challenges, and past accomplishments as history unfolds with cause and effect. Students have the opportunity to pick their favorite leader, their favorite time period, or their favorite contribution over time as they embark on a journey to discover their past. Students read and learn about famous people, their accomplishments, and how they created change. Eras of historical events and results of change are also highlighted. Our History Mystery course focuses on critical thinking, creativity, and historical empathy. It encourages students to think beyond the surface and explore the complexities of the past. Connecting with history in a meaningful way will not only expand knowledge but also cultivate valuable skills that lead to identity, compassion, and awareness of the world around them.
