NO CLASS ON JUNE 19, 2024 In this introductory level video production course, students will learn how to develop and visualize their ideas through all stages of cinema production, from pre-production through finishing and screening. Students will develop skills in screenwriting, cinematography, directing, lighting, and editing. Students will create films in documentary, commercial/public service announcement and narrative modes, exploring genre, auteurship, and modes of collaboration. Although students will learn about a variety of genres of movies, they will be able to choose the genre of film they want to create. Through organized critique and self-reflection, students will work together to become more active, critical participants as consumers and creators of media.
