Description
YMCA & GDYT Youth Employment Internship Site SupervisorsBecoming a summer internship site and supervisor requires background clearance and training. Youth will can only work once the site supervisor has been cleared, completed the trainings and the worksite has been vetted. Internships are for older youth ages 16-21. Youth are placed at local businesses to work based on career interests. These placements are considered YMCA worksite partners and designate an employee to be an internship supervisor. The students attain their work responsibilities and finalize their work schedule under the guidance of their internship site supervisor.
*The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our programs. We hold all volunteers regardless of service project, to the highest possible standards. We require volunteers that are working with youth to be screened regularly and sign a code of conduct. All volunteers will be monitored when interacting with program participants. We rake any inappropriate interactions between program participants and with volunteers very seriously and will fully cooperate with authorities in any case of abuse.
