About this event

Description

We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, April 9, 2022.

Whether you're an avid outdoorsman or a casual hiker, come explore the trails at Danville's Trail Mixers. Each month we'll visit the regional parks in your own backyard and spend the day off the beaten path staying fit and making new friends. Pre-registration for each Trail Mixer is required. Directions and a map will be emailed 1-2 days prior. For more information please contact Leah Martinez at lmartinez@danville.ca.gov.

This month, we head into Morgan Territory. We will be starting from the staging area at 9401 Morgan Territory Road, Livermore (best entered from the Livermore side) and heading out on the Volvon Trail. We will take Volvon to Stone Corral, Coyote, and Condor trails before getting back to the staging area. The entire hike is approximately 5.5 miles and 800 ft of elevation gain. Hikers should have completed a 4 mile hike with at least 500 ft of gain.

While the weather is expected to cool somewhat prior to the weekend, it is still expected to be sunny and around 80 degrees. We will be on fire roads for the majority of the hike with minimal shade. So hikers are recommended to wear layers, bring sunscreen, water and snacks, and wear appropriate footgear.

Because of the expected warm temperature, we will get a slightly earlier than usual start in order to be done by late morning. We will meet at the staging area in Morgan Territory at 8:00 a.m. with the hike beginning around 8:15 a.m. There are restrooms and water available at the staging area.
