COURSE DESCRIPTION
This class covers the basic elements and principles of design and serves as a foundation for future art classes. Students learn that artistic skills can be learned and are not simply a natural talent, and there is an emphasis on building confidence through skill development. Each unit includes instruction, practice activities, a major project, a critique of students’ works, and a written test. 2D and 3D media are introduced, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and collage, etc. Emphasis is placed on appreciating diversity in art and evaluating the art of students, professionals, and masters.When
