General Guidelines

Articles should be clear and concise. The length of each piece may vary but a good rule of thumb is to aim for 600 to 1000 words.

Writers should:

  • Avoid first person. The focus of the article should be on the athlete and how they can improve.
  • Be concise and keep sentences short.
  • Use lists and subheads to break up text.
  • Write with an active voice. (e.g. Active Voice: Run two miles to warm up. Vs. Passive Voice: Running two miles to warm up is a good idea.)
  • Define technical terms.

How to Submit?

Please submit articles to Elizabeth.Grimsley@ActiveNetwork.com.
