About this event

Description

This activity is closed to further registration.

Let’s see if we can spot spring wildflowers on this easy 3.5 mile hike in the William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge. Starting at the display pond, the up-and-down hike will go through several types of forest, including oak, woodland, maple and Douglas fir. If time and energy permits, we could also hike WoodPecker loop for an additional mile and half.

Directions: Carpool arrangements will be made, but if you prefer to meet up in the refuge, we will start at the parking lot by the Display Pond on the west end of the refuge. From Hwy 99: From the intersection of 99 and Avery Av/Crystal Lake Dr, drive south approx 8.5 miles to Finley Rd.Turn right. (There will be a sign to William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge a little before this road.) Follow this road to Finley Refuge Rd, which is a sharp left. Following these two roads to the Display Pond is about 3.5 miles. The pond is just past the road that turns and goes to the refuge store and office, on the left side of the road.
