Description
Distance 2 miles 570 foot elevation gain. Mary’s Peak Wildflower Hike This is a wonderful hike to escape a hot summer day in Corvallis. The hike is about 2.2 miles through old growth forest, with a short spur that climbs about 400 feet up to the top of Mary’s Peak. (If you are not up for the climb, the spur hike is optional.) NOTE: Mary’s Peak parking requires a day use fee or a valid parking pass.Directions: Carpool arrangements will be made but the hike begins at Marys Peak Campground located just below the parking area at the day use area observation point. Take OR-34 south of Hwy 20 for about 11.7 miles.Turn right onto Marys Peak Rd. It is about 8.7 miles on this road to the campground which is on the right side of the road. Park in the parking lot here. If you come to the end of the road (at the day use area), you have gone too far. The campground is about a half mile before the day use area.

Be prepared! Please be sure you have the following. Registrants that are not prepared may not be able to participate due to safety.
Required:
Shoes made for walking or hiking. Flip flops or other shoes that pose a tripping hazard are not suitable.
Water bottle. Please bring your own water bottle to be sure you are safely hydrated.
Comfortable clothing that will not get caught on branches or wildlife
Things that might be good to have:
Snack bar or other pocket snack
Hat /Visor
Sunglasses
Sunscreen applied before joining
