Explore the night sky. Learn how to map and locate objects in the sky so you can practice from your backyard. Discover the celestial sphere and ecliptics and investigate how they affect our viewing of the NW night sky. Investigate the three types of twilight and why astronomers pay attention to them. We’ll lay the groundwork to allow you to smoothly find your way around the night sky.Other related classes include: Amateur Astronomy: The Tools of the Trade and Amateur Astronomy: Diving Deeper Class includes a presentation, open Q & A, take-home resources and some outdoor observation. Indoor space has access to bathrooms and water. Bring appropriate layers for the outdoor portion. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments (hot tea!) and snacks as needed. Kids ages 12 and up welcome. $5 discount per additional family member.
