Description
$20 LAB FEE DUE AT FIRST CLASSClass Description:Learn the fundamentals of working with book board, card stock, and paper to bind journals, albums, and construct boxes. Students will learn various binding structures and related techniques including how to make book cloth, paste paper, painted paper, and collage. There are 6 sessions throughout the year, and each will have a different focus. Beginners are welcome time to sign up at any.
Session 3: French link bindings and sewing over tapes will be the emphasis of this session. Learn how to assemble the text block and sew over tapes or ribbons to bind the pages, then weave the tapes into the covers for a decorative effect.
Class Objective:
• French link stitch and sewing over tapes.• Adhesives: suggested ratios of PVA to paste depending on the materials to be glued.• Weave ribbons and tapes into the covers.
