Course DescriptionPainting/Beginners (Introduction to Painting) is a course designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of traditional oil painting. Students will develop a fundamental understanding of the complex medium of oil and acrylic paint through progressive exercises. Students will learn how to handle paint, mix colors, organize picture plane, and develop observational skills. Students will have the opportunity to work from several still life set-ups and will have the opportunity to work at their own pace on any or all of the still life paintings throughout the seven to eight weeks of the course.Note: While not required, it is highly recommended that you take a basic drawing class prior to taking this class. The focus of this course is on Representational Painting which assumes you have a basic understanding of foundational drawing skills.

For Acrylic Painters (Acrylic Painting Material)
- Bristle Acrylic Paint Brushes (Same as Oil Paint Brushes)- Acrylic Paints – Same as Oil Paints with the exceptions listed below:• All tube size 60 ml except for Titanium White, which should be 150 ml.
