Description
Over the years, Acrylic Painting has become more popularized. As its association with modern and contemporary art grows, more artists are reaching for it as a beginner and professional medium. In this class, we will learn the basics of acrylic painting— from preparing our canvas, terms and techniques, basic color theory and mixing, and more! We will paint from still life subjects and photo references, along with experimenting with abstract styles. This class is designed for all levels, particularly benefitting beginners who are intimidated by acrylic painting and need guidance.For this class, you will need these supplies, those marked with ** indicate extras will be available at the community center:
• One Acrylic Paper Pad or a Heavyweight Mixed Media Pad - 8.5 x 11” or larger • A set of heavy body acrylic paint - (Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, White) **• One canvas panel/board - Size 7 x 9 - 8 x 10”• Two canvases of different sizes of your choice - Smallest 6x6 - Largest 12x12 (square or rectangle) traditional profile is fine, choose the value canvases. • A set of acrylic painting brushes with a variety of sizes and shapes, 5 or more brushes. • A set of plastic palette knives/spatulas (3+) • Sketching Pencils

Class will be canceled: January 15th and February 19th
Supply List:- Cold Press Water Color Paper or mixed media journal 7 x 10 or larger- Either an 8, 10, or 12 pack of canvases- Colored Pencils- One container of Mod-Podge Original/Glossy - Collage Materials (old magazines, photo clippings, and construction/scrapbook paper, buttons, yarn, etc.)
