Description
A six week introductory belly dance class for beginners. Students will be given a brief introduction to the history of "Raqs Sharqi" (belly dance), be introduced to basic Bellydance figures, foundational footwork, hand positioning, undulations, and shimmies. Students will be exposed to a variety of music, and will become familiar with the introductory rhythms often found in Arabic music. All of this will culminate towards learning a basic level choreography that will be learned throughout the six weeks and completed at the end of the class. Each class will be an hour in length, and will begin with a full body, warm-up, moving and preparing specific joints, for the figures to be learned that day, each class will also end with a cool down.
