Compass Creative Dramatics will be back to teach a fully staged musical with GISC students over Spring Break! Students will audition, rehearse, and perform a musical in only 5 days, while acting alongside local professional actors - no acting experience necessary. They'll stretch their creativity and bravery muscles as they take the spotlight in an original musical based on one of their favorite classic fairy tale stories, “Beauty and the Beast”! Not only will students perform for their family and friends, they'll also get extra learning opportunities as Compass Educators lead them through fun and playful theatre workshops. Whether this is your child's first theatre experience or they are a seasoned actor, Compass will guide them through their week of theatre with both fun and learning and students will end the program with a new sense of confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Join us for this spectacular week to remember! The story: Beauty and the Beast As their beloved books disappear off the shelves, Beauty and her team of local librarians embark on a quest to rescue them from the city sewers. There, they find the Beast and his henchmen searching desperately to cure the curse that has transformed them all into animals of the lowest degree. Amidst dancing pigeons, ticklish books, and enchanted blue roses, Beauty and the Beast learn that it's only by working together that they can save the day. In order to secure the actors and instructors, all participants must register no later than February 16. Late registrations will not be permitted. By registering, students are committing to participate in the entire week. Because of the very collaborative nature of the program, they are not excused from rehearsals or performances. Should we receive fewer than 12 registrations by February 16, we will cancel this Spring Break program.
