Join Henricus Interpretation Supervisor and Revolutionary War Historian John Daniel Pagano for a study and look at the forgotten, and now-found, Battle of Osborne’s Landing. This battle was fought 1 mile from Henricus Historical Park on the James River at the Chesterfield port town of Osborne’s Landing. Here in 1781, General Benedict Arnold marched upon the anchored Virginia State Navy, driving off the Virginia militia and nearly capturing the entire fleet.
This event will feature two distinct parts; a lecture on the battle at its modern location, and a two-mile round trip hike on the original route used by the Virginia militia.
The lecture will take place in the Henricus Education Center from 1 – 2 p.m. and the hike will take place from 2 – 4 p.m.
Cost:
  • Lecture – $10; Members: $5
  • Lecture + Hike – $15; Members $10
Visit the Henricus.org website for enrollment and further details.
