Description: This course was designed in memory of Walker Andrew Sisk. Walker loved the fire service and had a great passion for knowing the skills of being a firefighter. This class has a lecture all day Friday at Church of Our Saviour to discuss building size up, reading smoke, and roles and responsibilities. The Saturday and Sunday classes will be at the Fire Training Center for hands-on training with Residential & Commercial Forcible Entry, VEIS, Ventilation on Flat and Peak Roofs, Search and Rescue, Ground Ladders, Fire Behavior and TIC usage, Firefighter Rescue, Tool Readiness and Can Confidence. We have over 50 instructors and staff members that are passionate about their skills and want to share those skills with others. This is a non-certification course, but you will gain the skill, knowledge, and art of being a truck firefighter. This course requires a $200 registration fee that is non-refundable. Prerequisites: VDFP Firefighter I or equivalent with at least 12 months of service with current department. This is a non-certification course. 1) There will be a mandatory class on Friday, March 15 (0800-1800) at Church of Our Savior, 1165 Rio Rd E, Charlottesville, VA 22901 2) Doors will open at 0700 on Friday, March 15. 3) Class on Saturday and Sunday will start at 0800 at the Fire Training Center on Peregory Lane, Charlottesville VA 22902 4) Lunch is provided all 3 days 5) Full PPE with SCBA and a spare bottle is required for this course. 6) Class is limited to 48 students Full Schedule: 3/15/2024 - 0800-1700 3/16/2024 - 0800-1700 3/17/2024 - 0800-1700
