OVERVIEW The SW Color Guard Clinic for offers four levels of instruction in Flag; Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Super Advanced, OR two levels in Rifle: Beginning, and Advanced. The emphasis is to develop a strong fundamental base of performance techniques, then teach students how to create their own routines and build upon what they learned after they leave the clinic. They are also taught how to transfer what they learned to others in their groups back home. In addition to flag and rifle skills, students learn modern body movements and marching basics. In the afternoon students have many electives from which to choose, including sabre, dance, leadership, style shows and additional routines. Each school receives recordings of all routines, and an instructional manual. The SW instructors are active with many famous color guards and drum corps from across the nation. This clinic is appropriate for large groups as well as individuals at the high school and college levels. Closing award ceremonies are hosted on the last day in O’Brien field for parents, sponsors, directors and friends.
