Description
Grab your friends/family, create a team, and join the Carson City Park Rangers for the fourth annual Scorpion Searching competition! You and your team will be given a black light and a data collection sheet and set free on the Wild Horse Trail to find all the scorpions you can find. They glow under the black light which makes this activity unlike anything you've done before.
This is a team event that requires 2-6 participants per team. Team leaders must register the team online with a team name. All other participants will need to sign waivers at the event.
The activity is considered "More Difficult" under the IMBA Trail Rating System. Expect uneven terrain, rocks, and sandy sections under the night sky. You will be traveling off trail, so also expect some unmanaged terrain. Black lights will be provided, so all you need to bring is water, close-toed shoes, layers, and an excitement for scorpions! Dress in your best black light attire to make your team stand out!
