The A League is the Stephen C. West Ice Arena's most competitive league division with many former D1 college, junior hockey, and Tier 1 or 2 high school hockey players. Challenges for eligibility based on playing ability will not be entertained. There is no gender requirement for this league.
The A League consists of (3) three, 15 minute stopped periods. This is a non-checking league. Players must understand the rules of the game and the action is fast-paced. Two officials are used for each game. The maximum number of teams in this league is 6.
The A League primarily plays on Wednesday evenings but additional days may be scheduled as needed (based on league registration). A bye week is also possible should an odd number of teams register for the league. Games begin Wednesday, January 12.
The season consists of (12) twelve regular-season games. The top (4) four teams advance to single-elimination playoffs followed by a best-of-3 series championship. Playoffs will be held on Wednesday, April 6. The championship games will be held during the week of April 11. Championship games will fall on a different night than normal game nights.
NOTE: All game times and days are subject to change. The last day to register is December 27, or until full.Age Category
