This program is for players in high school and above up to age 20. This translates to players with birth dates from 5/1/2003 to 4/30/2009.
Players 14 years old intending to play high school baseball should play in this division, too. Seniors Division features a full field (90-foot bases, 60-foot-6 pitchIng distance) -- same as high school baseball. In comparison, the Juniors Division offers a smaller field (80-foot bases, 54-foot pitching distance). So, Seniors should be the option for anyone planning to play on a high school team or in the summer between their sophomore and junior years in high school.
Teams are placed in competition divisions based on their age and experience, with play restricted to those groups in the postseason tournament.
This is a player-driven division. Participants are encouraged to grab their friends and create a team (adult coach needed). All registrants are placed on a team.
Full baseball rules on a regulation diamond (60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance, 90-foot bases).
Games are seven innings or limited by a time limit. Teams play typically three times per week, with practice time available on the weekend. Games start in late May and run through late July, with a postseason tournament and All-Star game capping the season.
Fields used: Devils Glen Park, McCausland City Field and Crow Creek No. 5 or Castro Field at Kiwanis Park/Paul Norton School. Devils Glen offers regulation fences; the younger divisions normally play with shorter fences at Crow Creek #5 (or Kiwanis) and McCausland City field (which hosts North Scott teams in particular).
Schedule normally includes doubleheaders (5:30 and 8 p.m. starts) on lighted fields, with Team A playing Team B, and then Team C playing Team D.
Games have been played Monday through Friday, and on Sundays if necessary. (Schedule will use as many game dates as necessary based on registration numbers).
Each player will receive a numbered jersey and a hat before games begin. The colors are determined by the sponsor, with the sponsor logo displayed on the front of the jersey.
