Description
City of Atlanta Esports & Gaming
Ages 7 to 21
The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office is thrilled to announce Atlanta’s first ever city-wide youth Esports league. Esports is an exciting industry with explosive growth that gives students the opportunity to compete nationally and internationally, earn scholarship money, and learn key technical skills. A part of COA’S Year of the Youth initiative, this program will encourage students of all ages to consider careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), with a focus on increasing diversity within the technology industry and mentoring the next generation of scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and above all, innovators. Atlanta's initiative integrates gaming into STEM, fostering diversity. The league, part of COA's Year of the Youth, promotes technical expertise beyond gaming, including coding and graphic design.
