Mindfulness is the awareness of the present moment using all of your senses that allows for relaxation and a more efficient way of thinking. When your mind and body are relaxed, you are better able to access the area in your brain that is responsible for recalling information. When the mind and body are not relaxed, we have a harder time accessing information that is stored in the brian. During the 1 hour workshop, Ms. Michna, a certified Mindfulness, Social Emotional Learning and Yoga instructor, will give students the tools they need to calm down before an exam. The information is not only helpful for test taking, but for all areas of life and may contribute to a calm, happier, and more engaged body and mind.
