This class is ONLY for students who have taken at least one Beginning Jewelry class at the A2AC within the last 2 years. Students must also have an understanding of the basics of sawing, soldering, finishing, etc. This class is for students who would like to continue to hone their skills in jewelry fabrication and design, while working independently on their own project ideas with the guidance of an experienced and knowledgeable metalsmith. Students can ask questions about techniques and processes specific to their projects and will have the help and knowledge to develop their project ideas. Students will have the option to learn about vacuum casting, but may opt out if they prefer not to. No projects will be assigned and aside from vacuum casting, no group instruction will be given. *There will be no class on July 6th and July 20th. Supply Notes Students should bring any jewelry tools/materials they frequently use to the first class and will need to purchase additional materials based on the needs of their design or casting ideas. Please bring a sketchbook and pencil to the first class.
Independent Studio Hours This class includes 26 hours of Independent Jewelry Studio time outside of class. These hours are non-transferable and expire at the end of the term.
