Instructor: Keely Kirk “If you can laugh together, you can work together” — Robert Orben. This continuing performance level class is not about the level, it is more about who you are improvising with! The focus is on enhancing and building your presentation and improv skills on stage. Using the skills you’ve developed through previous improv classes, your instructor helps you evaluate your established intelligent, comedic choices and how to take them to the next performance level. Direction from your instructor focuses on the following performance components: learning to work as an ensemble, making believable character choices, and engaging an audience. In addition, you will strengthen your stage presence, projection, physicality, and spatial recognition off the stage. Also, in this course, you will continue to learn the importance of a group mind and how to put it into practice with an ensemble. By learning how to be vulnerable while supporting your scene partner unconditionally, you will acquire the strengths necessary to build the group's cohesiveness while deepening your individual performance. Basic structures and approaches to several long formats will be introduced as well. The show date will be confirmed once the class begins—no class 1/30.
