Welcome to Rookie Runner HQ, where you can get caught up on the entire Rookie Runner series to-date. You can find every part of the series so far below — think of it like binge watching a TV show, but you get to binge read. About me. LUCKY YOU!
If you're new to the series, you can get started with my intro below. Otherwise, just scroll to the right to pick up where you left off.
Happy reading and running!
NOTE: DO NOT read and run at the same time. It's quite dangerous. Enjoy!
Part I: The Introduction

Hiya! I'm Scott, senior editor for ACTIVE.com, and I'm about to run my first half marathon. Wait... what?
Apparently I'm really doing this, so I guess I better get the right shoes. Join me as I get my first gait analysis (don't worry, the tests came back negative) to see what kind of running shoe is right for me.
Seriously though, I actually have to do this? Fine. I'm gonna need my music though, but I'm sick of my headphones getting tangled up when I run. What are these "wireless headphones" you speak of? Witchcraft, I say!
If I'm actually gonna go through with this I guess I better figure out how long it'll take me to run 13.1 (!) miles. I try out my first running watch to see if I can make sense of this newfangled technology.
