Date & Location: October 17-19, 2025 - Location TBD, +/- 2.5 hours from Rome, Ga Program Details: Goals: Introduction to & Expanding Backpacking skills: packing your backpack, pitching a tent/tarp, building a fire, purifying water, cooking meals, setting up a bear hang, and managing hygiene needs. Learn compass and map/trail reading skills. Spend time enjoying God's creation/reflecting on his word. Beginner to intermediate hiking suitable for all group members. Program Overview: Depart from Rome on Friday, October 17th at 9am and carpool to the trailhead, hike start time around 1:30pm, TBD dependent on location. We will begin hiking on the first day; set up camp. October 18th we will continue hiking. October 19th we will hike out by early afternoon and return to Rome by 9pm at the latest, with a celebratory meal on the way home for those that choose to join.
