Lil Rookies Basketball League is an exciting volunteer-led introductory program designed to introduce young athletes to the game of basketball! This league is perfect for beginners looking to learn the basics of the sport while having fun and building teamwork skills. Players will be placed into teams by YMCA sports staff. The league will host six Saturday morning games, where players will gain hands-on experience on the court. Each session will begin with a 30-minute practice, where players will develop fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. Following the practice, teams will play a 30-minute game, allowing players to apply what they've learned in a supportive and exciting environment. This program is run by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about teaching the sport and ensuring a positive, supportive experience for all participants. The focus is on making basketball fun and accessible for all skill levels while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and enjoyment. Join us for a season of learning, playing, and growing together!
