This class does not qualify as an intro class for studio membership.
Instructor: Bobby Darr
Throwing Larger: At least 10 lbs.
4-week class 6pm - 9pm
Projects: 2 large bowls with carving
What to bring: 25# of clay for weeks 1 & 2, basic throwing and trimming tools (needle tool, soft and firm ribs, sponge, wire cutters, trim tools). Some specialty tools will be provided.
Class Schedule
Week 1:
- Demonstration of two methods of wedging a large amount of clay.
- Demonstration of throwing techniques.
- Wedging and throwing a 10 pound bowl.
- Trimming the 10 pound bowl.
- Throwing the second 10 -13 pound bowl.
Week 3:
- Trimming the second bowl.
- Planning decorations of the bowls.
Week 4:
- Carving and decorating the bowl
