About this event
Are you a creative problem solver who enjoys grappling with complex number patterns and solutions? If so, you would love to participate in our Math Club where we prepare for a math competition called “Math Kangaroo.” I will support students as they stretch beyond the rigors of everyday, routine math and delve more deeply into problem solving, geometric and 3-D thinking, algebraic thinking, and logic. We will have many different practice materials available for group, and independent practice. We will take practice tests as competitions approach, but we will also have a lot of fun with math. The spirit of this club is not to win each competition but to engage with challenging solutions; to learn how much fun math can be, more strategies and how many different ways it is applied. Math is a language and I want to empower students who are interested with all of the vocabulary and sophistication of strategies that develop! The club will facilitate the registration process.
