She's a fitness fanatic, yoga enthusiast and avid runner. Her love for sports and fitness began with dancing as a child, which she continued all the way through college. When Fara suffered a major back injury, she was forced to hang up her dance shoes. While in rehab, she became a personal trainer to help her understand the human body. This motivated her to help others achieve their fitness goals.
Fara's goal was to be strong enough to dance again. Years later, she reached her goal and started to set new ones. After experimenting with numerous fitness styles, she discovered a love for yoga and running.
In 2004, Fara set a new goal of running in the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure 5K. She laced up her shoes and set out to raise money in honor of her grandmother's breast cancer survival. Since then, Fara has been running and fundraising for numerous charities. Her proudest achievement is raising $1,000 in a few short weeks for her friend who was fighting cancer. She then ran a half marathon and set a new PR.
When not training for a race, Fara is in the yoga studio, at the gym or creating outdoor boot camps for friends. You may find her walking on the beach with her dog, hiking Torrey Pines in San Diego, or riding her bike along the coast. She encourages everyone to be active every day, even if it's just 30 minutes of activity to reduce stress, get an energy boost, or feel a sense of accomplishment. Healthy living is not easy; but she believes it's just an adjustment...and once you're there, you're hooked.
