Fitness Gear Review: Misfit Flash

Is that a new watch on your wrist? Or is it one of those trendy wearable fitness trackers everyone seems to have these days?

The Misfit Flash has joined the fitness tracker party, and with an affordable price and a versatile design, it's certainly worth considering. I tested the Flash over a span of a few weeks. Here's what I found:

PROS

Affordability: At $50, the Flash is one of the most affordable activity trackers on the market. This price is much lower than other trackers, which typically cost anywhere from $100 to $250.

Waterproof: Don't worry about removing the Flash when you hop in the shower after a tough workout. What's more, it can also track your swimming, so be sure to keep it on when you jump in the pool for a lap workout.

Simplicity: The face of the tracker is the only button you need. Push it to view your daily progress toward your goal. After your progress is shown (with a partial or full circle), you will then see the time. Download the Misfit app on your smart phone (iOS or Android) to get in-depth details and updates about your distance traveled and calories burned. The app is fairly simple and easy to navigate, and most people should be able to figure it out without much trouble.

Versatility: The Flash comes in seven colors and can be worn on your wrist like a watch or clipped to an article of clothing. This versatility is great for the various needs or desires people may have.

Automatic Sleep Tracker: Don't worry about pushing a button or turning on a sleep mode; the Flash will automatically track your sleep. It gives you estimates on how much "restful sleep" and "light sleep" you get each night.

Battery Life: The Misfit Flash battery lasts an estimated six months with no charging needed.
