About This Activity
We’re here to inspire participants to build creatively and think critically, so grab your hardhats, engineers! Discover what it means to be an engineer, dive into design using the Engineering Design Cycle, and create tons of hands-on, creative projects—this camp is perfect for the builders and makers of our world! Join this camp if you want to learn all about what engineers can do! This program is intended for participants entering Grade 2/3 in September 2024. NOTE: This is a 4-day week NOTE: The same themes at the same grade level will contain the same content across all weeks. For example, Maker 2/3 Week 1 will contain the same material as Maker 2/3 Week 7. Girls* and women* bring value and diversity to STEM, and through providing a girl*-focused space, we encourage and inspire the next generation of women* in STEM. Geering Up holds All Girls* Camps every summer to encourage girls* to discover and explore their love of science and engineering. All Girls* Camps offer the same activities as their co-ed counterparts in a girl*-focused space. *We use the words “girls” and “women” with an asterisk (*) to intentionally include students and stakeholders who are underrepresented in STEM fields.
