About This Activity
Velo Kids and Ottawa County parks have partnered to provide adventure-based, half-day bike camps for kids going into grades 4-9 who want to take their mountain biking skills to the next level, with one advanced girls group and one advanced boys group. Special Note on Locations: this camp is utilizing trails up north at Mosquito Creek and out at Bass River. Monday/Tuesday/Thursday at Mosquito Creek (in Twin Lake) Wednesday at Bass River (in Allendale) Requirements: -Positive attitude -Able to comfortable ride 10+ miles -Previous experience riding local mountain bike trails -Helmet and a functioning mountain bike with gears and front suspension (no training wheels) -Contact emily@velo-kids.org if a bike or helmet are needed. All Campers will: -Explore the area on bikes to learn about the exciting things in the community. -Build up their biking skills in fun and exciting ways. -Learn how to bike safely and gain awareness of their surroundings. -Practice stewardship for our trails, parks and our community. -Understand how their bike works and how to keep it maintained. -Meet new friends, be active, have FUN, and enjoy the great outdoors! -Receive a Velo Kids Bike Camp t-shirt.
