Electives are open to all levels! WEDNESDAYS Improvisation 5:30- 7:00 PM | Location: Studio 2 | Learn the skills you need to be a more fluid speaker of the bebop language. Become more confident playing in jam sessions and taking solos in your band. Rhythm Section Workout 5:30- 7:00 PM | Location: Annex | Focus: The influence of Oscar Peterson. Explores the intricacies of the jazzy rhythm sections from a variety of different eras, styles, and iconic bands. Vocal Ensemble 7:15- 9:00 PM | Location: Studio 1 | Focus: The influence of Sarah Vaughan. New Jersey's own Sarah Vaughan is the epitome of jazz excellence. Her sound, phrasing, and improvising made her one of the most sought-after vocalist of her time. Composer's Workshop 7:15- 9:00 PM | Location: Annex | Get started on your own creative path now by unlocking your true artistic voice through composition. The session will end with a recording of your new music!
