Whether you're an astronomy enthusiast or a curious beginner, this event will provide you with the essential knowledge and hands-on experience to get started with your own telescope. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the wonders of the night sky and gain the skills to embark on your own astronomical adventures. Whether you're setting up your first telescope or looking to refine your skills, this event is perfect for all ages and experience levels. Weather permitting, we'll conduct a special session on solar viewing using an ultraviolet filter. You'll have the chance to safely observe the Sun and learn about solar phenomena. If you have solar eclipse glasses left over from the April 8th eclipse, bring them along! We'll incorporate their usage into our solar viewing session, allowing participants to enjoy the experience while waiting for their turn at the telescope. NOTE: This is a parent/child program. Parents/guardians are kindly requested to stay and share the experience with their child. Pre-registration is not required. This program is included with your Lakeside Chautauqua Gate Pass.
