About This Activity
In this two day introductory class, participants will fence with actual fencing equipment (non-electric). Activities will include training in strength, balance, coordination, weight distribution, and footwork leading up to concepts of fighting: distance, timing, and execution of more complicated fencing actions appropriate for this age group. History of fencing, Olympic Fencing, and competitive vs. recreational fencing will be discussed. Dress code: tennis shoes, t-shirt, shorts, or sweatpants (preferred). Following completion of this class, participants will be eligible to register for the All Lakeside Fencing Tournament, Friday, July 19.
