Description
Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism offers recreational youth tackle football for ages 9-10. This program focuses on enhancing each youth's knowledge of the game and skill level on the field while providing a positive sports experience emphasizing sportsmanship, and fun.Age as of July 31, 2024 determines eligibility/age group. Leagues are subject to close-out prior to the last day of registration. Leagues may be delayed or cancelled due to an insufficient number of volunteer coaches.
Due to the high demand, registration may fill up prior to the enrollment end date. Please only join the waiting list for the area and age group you intend to play. Team placement requests will not be granted.
All players are required to have a mouth guard for all practices and games. It is also recommended that they also bring a practice jersey big enough to accommodate pads, white football pants, cleats, and a water bottle.
Practices for this league could take place at various city or school fields in the Deep Creek or Camelot area. Coaches set the practice schedules based on their availability and will contact you about their approved practice days and times.
Game schedules will be posted online prior to the beginning of the season. Games will take place at various locations city wide. A game jersey will be provided by the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. Inclement weather make-ups and playoffs (for qualifying teams) may run into November.

***Participants registering online, will need to be weighed in at any of our community centers or our administrative office prior to the end of registration on June 29***
*Enrolled participants for this age group may be required to attend a skills evaluation to help determine team placement. Evaluations are tentatively scheduled for the week of July 22. Athletics staff will provide more information after registration closes.*
Responsibility/Consent on registration form refund policy and team placement guidelines listed. Refunds are not granted after participants are placed on teams. Team placement requests will not be granted. Leagues may be delayed or cancelled due to an insufficient number of volunteer coaches.
