***This camp is designed for Silverdale students. 6th Grade Math Mastery: 9:00-10:20 Every summer, upcoming Silverdale middle and high school students are expected to complete the Math Mastery program for their upcoming math class. Math Mastery is considered 'summer reading' for math, and allows students to focus on mastering basic skills they have learned previously and will use extensively in their upcoming math class. For those who would like the instruction, guidance, and accountability of a teacher to complete the summer Math Mastery program, SBA offers a Math Mastery Camp for each middle and high school math course. The camp is July 15-19 and meets 80 minutes each day. The camp will be taught by SBA High School Math Department Head, Mr. Robert Hetrick and SBA 6th grade Math Teacher, Mr. Josh Schoening. Each Math Mastery lesson and worksheet will be completed during the camp. When registering, look for Math Mastery and your child's upcoming course. Mr. Hetrick has been at Silverdale since 2017 and has a total of 16 years of teaching experience. Mr. Hetrick holds a B.S. in Secondary Education-Mathematics from Tennessee Temple University, a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Lee University, and an Ed.S in Instructional Technology from Valdosta State University. Mr. Hetrick has a teaching certificate from the state of Georgia in Mathematics (Grades 6-12) as well as an American Christian School International certificate in Secondary Mathematics. Mr. Schoening has been at Silverdale since 2020 and has many years of teaching experience. Mr. Schoening holds a B.A. in Arts, Child and Adolescent Development from California State University and a M.Ed. from Vanguard University. Bring pencils to write with.
