Hip-hop is a high-energy class that teaches hip-hop styles such as popping, locking, and grooving. This class will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their style and personality to the movements. Basic hip-hop moves are taught through creative movement and play, the use of props, and obstacle courses around the dance room. This is a great class for learning rhythm, following directions, taking turns, developing gross motor skills, and improving balance, coordination, self-expression, and body awareness. Attire: Students should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in, such as leggings, sweatpants, shorts, etc. Dancewear is not required. We ask that students wear closed-toed, secure shoes/ tennis shoes (no flip-flops or Crocs). We do not allow students to dance barefoot.
