About This Activity

Description

Learn to skate The Cove Skatepark in this 3 hour and 50 minute half day skateboarding camp for beginner and intermediate skaters. This camps will consist mostly of group instruction with an opportunity to free skate and practice new skills. All protective gear (mask, helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards) are required to participate in the camp.

During non-camp hours all participants must have a Cove Skatepark Membership in order to use the skatepark. Cove Skatepark membership can be attained at the Memorial Park Gym office located next to the Cove Skatepark (1401 Olympic Blvd. Santa Monica, 90404). PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT TO SIGN COVE SKATEPARK WAIVER. For questions regarding membership and office hours please call (310) 458-8237.

EQUIPMENT:

All safety equipment is mandatory to participate in our programs. This includes wrist guards, knee pads, elbow pads and helmet. You can purchase equipment at least 72 hrs ahead of time to have it delivered your first day of the program. Link to our store: www.theskateside.com/store

MAKE UP POLICY:

There is NO make up allowed for any reasons, including but not limited to participants gets injured, becomes sick/ill (including COVID), quarantining, behavioral issues, students not enjoying the program, vulgar language, bullying, unsafe behavior, has behavioral issues, refusing to wear safety gear, etc.

A missed day is a forfeited day.



Makeups will not be offered for days missed by the student. All class dates, times, locations, and instructors are subject to change without notice. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.


TRANSFERS

Enrollments can NOT be transferred to a different student, sibling included. Enrollment can not be transferred to a different city or week.

PICK UP POLICY:

Staff will begin calling parents promptly at pick up time, when students are passed their pick up time. If late a fee will apply.


LATE PICK UP FEE:

The Late Pick-up fees apply to the 1pm pick up time

1. 5 -15 minutes late $10.00

2. 16 - 30 minutes late $25.00

3. 30 mins - 1hr late $50.00


EMERGENCY:

If there is an emergency holding you up, please call (424)258-5877 and leave a voicemail if no-one is available to pick up your call.


REFUND POLICY/CANCELLATION

There is a STRICT NO REFUND POLICY for any reason, including but not limited to participants becomes sick/ill (including COVID), quarantining, behavioral issues, students not enjoying the program, vulgar language, bullying, unsafe behavior, has behavioral issues, refusing to wear safety gear, etc. There are no refunds for injury as injury is a known risk of skateboarding even with instruction and safety gear.


REFUNDS - Class refunds will be issued with medical documentation or if requested at least 5 calendar days prior to the first meeting. Refunds will be prorated. A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Requests must be made in writing to the Program Supervisor in person or by email (sports@smgov.net and theskateside@gmail.com).

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
