About This Activity
Description
Pack your bags, grab your tent, and get ready for a fun night under the stars! Hands down, camping is one of the best activities you can do with your family. This event is a great way to introduce the fun of camping to your family without having to travel far and wide. Besides learning valuable skills (setting up a tent), camping can teach you to work together as a family towards a common goal, strengthen family bonds, and create wonderful memories while in the outdoors. On Friday, August 2, beginning at 5:30 p.m., families are encouraged to register (before the event) to spend the night at Lakeview Park, a safe and secure location (no bear sightings thus far), and take part in a BBQ dinner, crafts, games, and other family fun. On Saturday, August 3, a continental breakfast will be available before hitting the “Happy trails”.Each family is encouraged to bring their tent and sleeping gear.Registration cost includes campout for family of 4.
You can bring up to 2 more family members to your campsite, but the total can't be more than 6. It costs $10 for each extra person you bring beyond the initial group of 4.
Tents can be rented on a first come, first served basis for $10 per tent. For more information, call the Town Center Hall at (562) 863-4896 or visit www.sfsrec.org.
