Each day we meet at Golden Gate Park and take field trips to explore coastal ecosystems, including rocky shore tide pools, exposed and sheltered beaches, bays, and estuaries. Kids will be introduced to local natural history, wildlife, oceanography (e.g., tides and currents), and basic water safety. We hike, we swim, we dig in the sand, and we make new friends. Our goal is to build leadership and critical thinking skills through experiential learning while adventuring in nature with peers and naturalists. During each session, campers will also meet live animals at Frog Hall (e.g., Blondie the Burmese Python, Trucker the Tortoise, and Watermelon the Asian Water Dragon). We Wander and Wonder Together!
