This is an advanced-level backpacking trip designed for older teens with backpacking experience. The hiking is strenuous with elevation and 4 to 6 miles a day. Come ready for a transformative experience that could be life-changing. A central part of this experience is that we will work on building a community in which we can share stories and deep nature connections. There will be an option to do a solo overnight. The orientation and gear check meeting for this trip will be determined at a later date, but will be held during the week of June 3-7. This is an opportunity for campers to meet their instructors, each other, and to learn about the adventure they are about to take! Campers can bring their gear to get it checked and fitted and can ask any questions they may have. We are using our multi-passenger van to bring staff, campers, and gear to our backpacking locations. The van will leave Leigh Farm Park on the Monday morning of the trip and will return Friday. Arrival time on Friday will depend on when the group arrives at their final hiking location. Counselors will send us an ETA when they are on the road.
