Supplies
1 of 5You will need:
- Rocks
- Paint, including white
- Paintbrushes
Step 1
2 of 5First, paint the rocks white and allow them to dry. This base coat creates a blank slate that allows the colors on top to pop. If you skip this step, your colors won't show as brightly on darker rocks.
Step 2
3 of 5Paint the rocks to resemble various garden creatures. For example, you may choose a butterfly or a ladybug. To make a caterpillar, paint multiple rocks to use as "links" in the caterpillar's body.
Step 3
4 of 5Once dry, take the rocks outside to a safe place in the garden and arrange them in their new home. Be sure to choose a place that won't be in the way of the lawnmower.
