About This Activity
Description
Our internationally certified instructors provide the opportunity for participants to enhance their physical conditioning skills, discipline and self-confidence through the study of classical forms, practical use, sparring and philosophy. Legitimate ranking is offered through Dai Nippon Butoku Kai (Greater Japan Martial Arts Association), one of the oldest and largest martial arts organizations in Japan. All students do warm up exercises together and are divided into skill levels for training. This program has been offered through the Newport News Parks and Recreation continuously for over 42 years and the head instructor has been with this program since 1981. Annual membership payable to DNBK is required for students continuing past the first session. Youth - $20, Adult - $30.
