About This Activity
Math to Power Her Life will be hosted at UBC Okanagan on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10am-2pm. This is a day program for Grade 7-9 self-identifying girls in the Okanagan valley. In an inclusive, and compassionate environment, participants will discover a variety of mathematical fun through several interactive workshops run by young women studying mathematics at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and Okanagan College. Through these activities participants will explore what can be pursued in university mathematics and beyond. This is a great opportunity to talk to young women in mathematics, meet other girls interested in mathematics, and engage in exciting new aspects of mathematics. All self-identifying girls and nonbinary people in middle school are welcome to register! Supplies for the sessions are provided with registration. Due to dietary needs, participants are required to provide their own lunch (nut free) and beverage for the day. Thank you for your understanding.
