Period C: Woodshop Basics In Woodshop Basics, campers will begin with hand tools and continue with power tools while learning about safety in the shop. Campers will design, plan, and build two objects– integrating tool knowledge and visual aesthetics. Campers will take home personal projects as a memento of their craft and growing knowledge. Instructor Trevor Slater is a math teacher and has a long career in education, including being an outdoor educator, coaching basketball, teaching archery and woodshop and much more. Period C: Ceramics Students will use hand building and sculpture techniques, taking the clay from an initial wet clay stage through bisque and glaze firings. No previous experience required. We are delighted for Kristen Calderon to return to Athenian Summer Programs and share her talents as both an artist and caring teacher.
