Dimensions Healthcare Offers Runners Pre-MCM Guidance
Dimensions Healthcare, an integrated, not-for-profit healthcare system serving residents of Prince George's County, Maryland and surrounding areas, offers tips for MCM runners. 1-Get fitted for, and buy, actual running shoes. Be sure to try shoes on in the afternoon when your feet are bigger. Do not "break in" a new pair of running shoes on race day. 2-Get some petroleum jelly, or adhesive bandages for areas that rub to prevent chaffing. Wearing spandex shorts under your regular running shorts will also help to prevent chaffing. 3-Be sure to increase you water intake the week before your race to maintain optimal hydration. 4-Avoid eating spicy foods the night before your run and get a good amount of sleep.
