The 2009 Marine Corps Historic Half marathon was held on May 18 and boasted 4,923 finishers, despite the windy, rainy weather conditions. Check out all the excitement from race day by visiting the Historic Half website for photos and results.

Historic Half
For the second consecutive year, Tim Young, 22, of Fredericksburg, VA was the top finisher at the Historic Half with his time of 1:06:57. Kristen Herring, 30, of Elizabeth City, NC was the first female finisher with her time of 1:28:33.

The third annual Marine Corps Historic Half will be held on May 16, 2010. Registration will begin in November 2009. Check the Historic Half website frequently for details.

The all new MCM10K will start on the DC side of the Potomac. For the first time, runners will begin their six mile trek on the National Mall and finish at the Marine Corps War Memorial on October 25. Younger runners can get involved by participating in the Healthy Kids Fun Run!

Runners will love the musically magical experience of RunStock, an evening 5K race with on-course entertainment and a post-race concert, to be held on August 15, 2009 beginning at 7:15 p.m. at Barnett Field on Marine Corps Base Quantico. Online registration for RunStock is now open.
