Historic Half runners will have one less thing to think about on race morning with the introduction of the new B-tag timing device.  Unlike the previously-used chip and D-tag that required runners affix a transmitter to a runner’s shoelaces, the new B-tag is connected to reverse side of the runner's bib.

Confirmation emails will be sent in April to all runners registered in the Historic Half and Semper Fred 5K.  The emails contain a special confirmation number to be utilized when downloading E-confirmation cards, necessary for retrieving race materials at Packet Pick-up, part of the Historic Half Healthy Lifestyle Expo on May 14-15 at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center.

Registration is still open for the Marine Corps Historic Half maratho to be held on May 16, 2010 in Historic Fredericksburg, Virginia. Visit the course map and review the 13.1 mile journey. New in 2010-all finishers receive a commemorative downloadable finisher certificate.  

The Semper Fred 5K participants will run a new, more exciting course that utilizes the Historic Half start and finish lines.  The Semper Fred 5K presented by the Free Lance Star will begin moments after the Historic Half on May 16.    

Now is the time to book a weekend stay through the Historic Half hotel desk.  Run the Half and plan to spend time in charming historic downtown Fredericksburg.  Visitors are invited to take advantage of special discounts, pasta dinners and shopping incentives from the restaurants and merchants.  Learn more about Fredericksburg from the Free Lance Star website. 

Marine Corps Historic Half welcomes groups or individuals interested in volunteering during event weekend.  Assignments include on-course, at packet pick-up, in hospitality and as entertainers.  Register to volunteer or contact the Historic Half office if you are an entertainer or part of a band interested in performing on event day.  

The Healthy Lifestyle Expo will showcase health, fitness, food and exercise through featured vendors such as Chick Fil A, New Balance, Geico, Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe and Jelly Belly Sport Beans.  Mary Washington Healthcare will present Runnin' Down A Dream. Your Path to Better Health—a booth featuring information about illness and injury prevention.

Visit the Historic Half online store to purchase exclusive technical apparel and the official 2010 “Inspired” in-training shirt.  The entire of Historic Half clothing line will be on sale at the Healthy Lifestyle Expo.

Be part of the landmark 35th Marine Corps Marathon on October 31, 2010.  If you’ve run with the Marines before, certainly you’ve promised yourself a return visit.  If you’ve never run “The People’s Marathon,” you’ve definitely put it on your to do list.  If you have friends who have visions of running a marathon, the 35th MCM is the one.  Registration opens online beginning on April 7.  Active duty/reserve discounted registration continues April 6.

Free shuttle service will be offered from the Healthy Lifestyle Expo to downtown Fredericksburg throughout the day on Saturday, May 15.  On race day, free shuttles to and from the start/finish area will be available for runners and spectators via the Route 17 commuter lot located on US 17 North, toward Warrenton. The commuter lot is located just off I-95 at Exit 133.  The race-day shuttle will operate from 5:00 a.m.
